This is a picture of Steve Mahay, owner of Mahay's Riverboat Service taming the rough whitewaters of Devil's Canyon, which had never been navigated in a powerboat. Steve is the first person to conquer Devil's Canyon. In 1991 he also made the first and only ascent up the Talkeetna Canyon using the same jetboat.

A Five Hour Denali Alaska Tour
You will travel 130 miles round trip through Denali State Park and into the National Wild River Park of "Devil’s Gorge" where only a few have ventured.
This is one of our high adventure trips, designed for the hardy adventurer wishing to experience the thrill of the ultimate Alaskan river experience.
Along the trip you will stop at our Safari site, where you will see a
Dena'ina Indian Encampment and visit an authentic trapper’s cabin with its original furnishings and view how trappers lived in "Bush" Alaska at the turn of the century. Your experienced guide will display raw furs from the local area and demonstrate trapping methods. Naturalists will acquaint you with the wildflowers and plants that grow in abundance along the river system and you will learn about the edible plants that were used by the Native Americans for cooking and medicines. As you travel further into the remote Alaskan wilderness along the river you will have ever present opportunities to view nesting bald eagles, beaver activity, moose and salmon and you just might see black bear and grizzly bear roaming the shore. Stand in the splendor of Denali and the Alaska Range from a spectacular vantage point on the Susitna River!
This tour is for the more adventuresome soul. Please dress warmly and wear comfortable and sturdy walking shoes. Be sure to bring your camera to capture this incredible experience. A boxed lunch is included in this all day adventure.
